NEWS & UPDATES

Lum Lab is situated on the traditional territory of the lək̓ʷəŋən People, specifically the Songhees and Esquimalt First Nations. We acknowledge and respect our traditional hosts and thank them for allowing us to conduct research while on their lands. As part of our practice of reconciliation, we are committed to (a) increasing our awareness of the colonial determinants of health, (b) critically evaluating the ways in which our research practices may perpetuate inequity, and (c) creating a culturally safe research environment to attract and support Indigenous students. Furthermore, we reject any discrimination on the basis of ethnicity, race, religion, sexual orientation, and disability, and enthusiastically welcome students and employees from underrepresented minorities and historically-excluded groups to join us in pursuit of scientific excellence.
