Samantha Punch, BSc
Research Assistant I
I received my Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from the University of Victoria in June of 2017. UVic’s Biochemistry and Microbiology laboratory program sparked my interest in mammalian cell culture work relating to the immune detection of cancer cells and it’s exciting to be working in a facility that applies these techniques to innovative cancer research.
Outside of the laboratory I enjoy swimming, softball, strength training and spending time with family and friends.
RESEARCH FOCUS
I became a part of the Lum laboratory team in April of 2019 and have taken on the role of study coordinator for the lab’s ongoing human studies. My other roles in the laboratory include genotyping the pups bred from our mice colony, ensuring our animal and human protocols are approved and kept up to date, as well as completing other necessary administrative tasks.
